Thomas Jefferson

Who was the man who changed our Goverment in a good way? I believe it was
Thomas Jefferson. He was part of The Founding Fathers. So the next couple of paragraphs will be on Thomas Jefferson and how and why he changed of Goverment.
Thomas Jefferson was born on April 13, 1743 in Virginia. "Thomas Jefferson, born in Virginia in 1743, lived in an age of revolution an emerging democracy" Beilenson 1 He was the third child out of eight in his family. His mother was named Jane Randolph Jefferson and his father was Peter Jefferson. At the age of nine Thomas started to study Latin, Greek and French. Five yearslater his father pasted away. When his father died Thomas inherited 5,ooo acres and a couple dozen slaves. At age sixteen he entered College. He studied there for two years and he ended up having the highest grades in his class.
He did a lot of time with are Goverment. He did such things as being the third president of the United States, the second vice president, he was the first Secretary of State, and finally he was the second Governor of Virginia. He took office in March 4, 1801 and ended in March 4, 1809. He was the principle author of The Decleration of Independence. They say that he was one of the most influential Founding Fathers. The major events that happened when he was president was the Louisiana Purchase and also the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
Thomas is one of the most important people because he gave us probably the most important document in the History of the United States and that is the Decleration of Independence. The Decleration of Independence is the building block to our society. If we did not have the Decleration of Independence we as a nation would not be at where we are right now.
In this blog I told you who I thought changed our Goverment in a good way. I personally think he is probably up there for the best president the United States ever had.
"Thomas Jefferson is remembered by most people as the third president of the United States, author of the Decleration of Independence, and, perhaps, purchaser of the Louisiana Territory." Holmes 1
