Who is the most important person we have studied this year
In this essay I will be describing who I think the most important person in history we have studied. I will be writing about Theodore Roosevelt. I will try to describe what he has done in his life and about his presidential life.
Theodore Roosevelt was a very interesting guy. This blog will be on the interesting stuff he has did through his life. Theodore was born in New York City in 1858. He was born into a wealthy family. But Theodore was not the healthiest boy. He had a very bad case of asthma. He also had different things but asthma was the most serious. But he learned to work through it because he had to scream while in war. In 1884 he married a lady named Alice Lee. Alice was preganent and she was ready have the baby and while she was having it She died. Theodore had deal with this and then his mom died on the same day. After this Theodore went to his ranch in Badlands of Dakota Territory. While on the ranch he hunted large game and driving cattle. Then he married Edith Kermit in December 1886.
During The Spanish American war Theodore was a lieutenant for the rough riders. That proved to be a good thing because if a heckler was in the crowd the rough riders would take care of them fast. But having asthma it proved to be hard. It was a good learning process for Theodore. And there was no more hecklers. The rough riders led them into the capture of San Juan. They said that the rough riders where the heroes of the war. Tom Platt needed some help so he called in Theodore for Governor in New York City. He was a rebublican. Theodore won and he served his time.
He became president after President McKinley got assassinated. Theodore was the youngest president to take office. He was just under 43. They said that he brought a excitment of presidency that no one ever had. Whatever he did he did all of it with a full hearted effort. He was not shy whatever he wanted to do he did. They said that he led them to a forien policy. He also did a lot of different stuff like let a black person into the whitehouse he also flew in a airplane, got to drive in a submarine. He was the first president to do any of these things. He also went on a African Safari that almost cost him his life but he probabley enjoyed every minute of it.
I chose Theodore because he seemed like a really cool guy and seemed like I would like to hang out with him anytime. I wish he was still alive because i would like to see what crazy stuff he would pull today.
