The Vietnam War

The Vietnam War started in 1959 and it ended on April 30, 1975. This is how it started. In the 1950's the United Staes started to send troops to Vietnam. For the next 24 years there would a lot of tension in the United States. Through out these years the United States would send roughly 3 million troops to Vietnam. They also estimated that there was 2.5 million killed in all. A lot of Vietnam's history they were under the rule of the Chinese. The Cold war was at the height and the US leaders where worrying agout Vietnam. They were thinking about attacking Vietnam but they did not want tension between the Chinese and the Russians. They thought it might of led to a world war 3. During the world they said the best general was William Westmoreland. They said that he got a lot of young men that did not know much. The bad thing about this war was that we did not know where they were hiding and they knew where every hiding place was. And they used this to there advantage. Fighting in a jungle was said to be tortuous and no human felt good in going in there. A lot of servicemen did drugs and other stimulants while serving. It was normal for riots to happen in the US when the war was going on. These riots where led by veterans trying to stop the war that was going on. The US Goverment finally saw that it was approiate to start withdrawing troops from Vietnam. They did a cease fire deal on January 27th 1973. That is when we started to pull are troops out of Vietnam. The North Vietnamese finally conquered the south in 1975. The Vietnam War is a war that America will never forget. We lost a lot of good men there and a lot of people that disagreed with this war and who knows we might of been better if we did not go in the war.

Vietnam from 1900-1954

Well in
Vietnam in 1954 there was something signed. This subject was the The Geneva Peace Accords. This was signed by France and vietnam. They signed it in the summer of 1954. This little peace thing was drawn up in the shadows of the Korean War. This Geneva Accords was not a good thing it meant that Vietnam was at there worst point. And it meant that Vietnam is war-torn. This was because of the Soviet Union and the people's Republic of China. But before all of this happened it was around 1902 and Vietnam was under French control. They where under the van than local control. This man named Phan Boi Chau founded the Viet Nam Duy Tan Hoi. He was influenced to do this by Kang Youwei. This party type thing was to build a monarchy in Vietnam. The next year he traveled to Japan. While he was there he met Liang Qichao and they wrote The History of the Demise of Vietnam. He also began the Eastern Travel movement. This was to give Vietnamese students the write to come and study in Japan. They trained to promote reform back home. In 1909 Japan sighned the treaty with France. Phan Boi Chau was thrown from Japan and he took refuge in Thailand. Ever since then he showed sympathy to the Sun Zhongshan.

Vietnam History from 1000 A.D. to 1900.

I am doing my blog mostly on Vietnam in the years of 1802-1902. The vietnamese was under this guy named Gia Long and he founded the Nguyen Dynasty and this was one of the last Vietnamese dynasty's. This dynasty started when they took over Hue. But this dynasty lasted to about 1945. He was supported a lot by this guy named Pierre Pigneau de Béhaine. Pierre was a French Missionary and he was bishop of Adran. He did a lot of good things like tried to move a centralized monarchy and he instituted sanctions against Buddhist and Daoist religious practices. The population was roughly 8 million. Then there was a new emperor and his name was Ming Manh. In 1840 Ming Manh sent people to London and Paris to comprimise with Christianity but adventually shot down. And in 1841 there was a new emperor and his name was Thieu Tri. He did not last very long at all. He also tryed to do the same thing as Ming Manh did about christianity and it was a complete failure. Him being emperor lasted until 1847. And in 1848 a new guy became leader of this and his name was Emperor TU-DUC. He was emperor for a long time he ended in 1883.

History of Vietnam from B.C.E. to 1000 A.D.

Vietnam from B.C. to 1000 A.D. In the early days it was said that The Northern Vietnam people where the first to move to Asia and practice there early civilization. From 200 B.C until 1000AD North Vietnam was a providence of China. The Chinease culture started to rub off on vietnam. From 1000-1800 vietnam was a dominate force to reckon with. Vietnam has a couple different religons but a good majority where Christians and they had a routine of praying and it was The first step: Repression of religious, economic and political freedoms continues, but thank God that the church has grown and continues to grow steadily, although it is still small.
The second step: Pray that the government may give a free reign to pastors and believers in the registered churches to expand their Christian activities and lift the harsh restrictions on religious activities.
The third step: Unregistered churches are harried by police, with meetings frequently broken up and leaders arrested. Pray for pastors and believers.
The fourth step: Pray for unity between leaders of registered and unregistered churches.
The fifth step: Leadership training is urgently needed. Many pastors are old, and younger churches are often led by those with little opportunity for theological study. They are therefore susceptible to error or bias in their teaching.
The sixth step: Pray for more study materials, theological books and commentaries to be imported. Christian literature production is strictly monitored.
The seventh step: Bibles are printed and available for purchase in Vietnam. Pray for increased production and distribution.
The eighth step: Pray that suitable people will take up the opportunities to work in Vietnam in development and professional work.
The ninth step : Many sections of the community and numerous ethnic groups remain scarcely touched by the gospel. Pray for:
The Muslim Cham and Buddhist Khmer of the Mekong Delta.
The northern ethnic minorities, which have been beyond the reach of missionaries for 50 years because of war and Communism. A few of these groups are now hearing and responding to the gospel in small numbers. The Hmong are particularly responsive. in 1975 there were no known believers. Today, thanks mainly to their response to Christian radio broadcasts, over 150,000 Hmong believe.
Christian radio programs have been remarkable in their scope and impact. Pray for the provision and preservation of staff and freedom to broadcast so that they might continue with these effective programs.
Government leaders and officials.
Vietnam first threat was the Red River Delta by the Chinease under The Hans dynasty. Vietnam is located here
